We kindly ask for a minimum of 48hours notice if you need to cancel or make changes to a scheduled visit. Where 48 hours’ notice is given, you choose one of the following-The visit can be carried over and rebooked as a one off, subject to availability (please note the same companion cannot be guaranteed in this instance) or a full refund can be issued. Cancellations or changes made with less than 48hours notice are still chargeable at full visit rate, as the time has already been reserved and cannot usually be reallocated.
Yes. With consent, family updates for reassurance can be included within certain packages.
Yes. Visit times are agreed in advance. For welfare packages AM or PM visits can be arranged, and where needed, planned AM/PM support on your selected days. Please note that visits scheduled from 6pm onwards are charged at a different rate.
Weekend visits are available at different rates and must be pre booked in advance, subject to availability. Weekend visits are intended for planned, ongoing support rather than one off or ad hoc requests.
Yes. Visits are arranged in advance on days and times that suit you, subject to availability.
Light household tasks may include washing up, polishing, wiping/cleaning down surfaces, light tidying, laundry support, hoovering. We do not provide deep cleaning or full domestic services.
Yes. Packages are reviewed and adjusted if needs increase or decrease.

We are a locally based service right here in Gosport, covering Lee on the Solent, Stubbington and surrounding areas. As we respond to changing needs within the community, our service area may expand, please feel free to contact us to see if we currently support your location.
Mileage is charged where support involves travel, such as errands, appointments or outings. Any mileage or additional costs will always be discussed in advance, so no surprises.
Our services are primarily provided through pre bookings or pre booked packages, which allow us to plan support effectively, prioritise continuity and ensure consistent reliable care.
One off visits may be available in limited circumstances, subject to availability. Please note that pre booked and block booked packages are always prioritised and continuity with the same companion cannot be guaranteed for one off visits
All standard bookings are pre-paid one week in advance to secure visit. For clients with ongoing, regular care needs, we offer pre-paid packages, which are paid for one month in advance. packages are designed for those who value continuity and priority booking with the same companion.
A companion service focuses on emotional and social support, being there for someone through friendly conversation, shared activities and a reassuring presence. Unlike personal or medical care our companions don’t provide clinical support or personal care tasks.
Instead, we bring continuity through connection and companionship to everyday life, advocating independence with a little help. This service takes time to get to know every person we support offering consistency and time rather than feeling impersonal and rushed based.
Yes, absolutely, in fact we encourage wherever possible. Consistency helps build a comfortable and trusting relationship between you and your companion creating a sense of familiarity and routine.
Yes. At Solent companions, safety, trust and professionalism are our top priorities. All companions are carefully selected and DBS checked before providing any support.
Yes. There is a minimum visit length of 1 hour. There is no maximum. Visits can be tailored to you. Please note that welfare checks are excluded, as these are available by pre booked package only.

There is no pressure or obligation, just a friendly conversation about how we can help.
We aim to provide consistent support with the same companion wherever is possible. However, on occasion such as illness or pre planned leave this will sometimes mean your usual companion is unavailable. In these instances, we do our best to arrange cover with another companion, so support can continue with minimal disruption during such time. Where cover is not available, we will discuss alternative options with you in advance. Continuity and communication are always our top priority.
Solent companions is a truly personal approach. Every relationship begins with getting to know the individual. Currently, companionship is arranged based on availability and locality to individual needs ensuring each visit is thoughtfully planned and consistent. This same care and attention remain central to how companions are matched.
For simplicity and security, we accept bank transfers and standing orders. You will receive a clear itemised invoice, issued either weekly or monthly depending on what has been agreed. Invoices are payable within 7 days of issue, and clear payment details will be provided for the ease of transfer. Most services are provided through pre booked packages or require pre booking, which are all payable in advance to secure visits and support continuity.
For clients with regular, fixed visits, standing orders are advised as they help ensure continuity, priority scheduling and smooth ongoing support.
Our pricing is based on the support required, length of visit and when support takes place. Rates vary depending on whether support is provided at home, involves errands or outings, or takes place during evenings, weekends or bank holidays. Short welfare visits are charged differently to longer home support or accompanied outings. We are always happy to discuss options and provide clear pricing as soon as you contact us, so you know exactly what to expect.
